Let's go ahead and start looking at some security.

So how do we set up security on one of these things.

Well the first thing we're going to do is come in here and down towards the bottom left.

So let's go ahead and come into users and we're going to right click on that and add a new user and this new user will be called manager.

And I'm going to hit OK.

So now I've actually created a user and I can now manage that person's permissions on some things.

And you know what this screen is kind of getting to be pretty noisy so I'm going to go ahead and open up screen 2 and I'm going to cut my log in and paste that over here the screen too.

And let's just go ahead and delete some of that navigation and I will move our previous button down and out of the way.

And now that I've got my lug and stuff there's one big difference you're going to see in security between factory talk view studio in Seymour in Seymour.

The security codes could be applied to each individual thing.

So a button or a numeric entry but in factory top view these are actually applied to the page itself.

So now we've got at least a way to get back out.

And we've got a screen so if we can get to this screen obviously we've got access to be here now I'm going to right click on the white space of the screen and go ahead and hit display settings and you see right here it says security code.

Well if it's got a star that means anybody can get in whether they're logged in or not.

So we're going to go ahead and just take security code A and hit apply and hit OK.

So now the only way you can really get into this screen is if you've got security code.

So now that we've got this set up we are going to need a way to get to this screen.

So I'm going to come over here and copy this as to button and paste it right here.

Now before we run the test there's one other thing that we need to set on here.

And now we're actually logged in and lo and behold I can get to my security page if I go to a previous I can click that bottom button which is our log out and sure enough and back to the default user and I cannot get back in.

That is how to do security inside a factory talk applications.

And the only other thing left to show you at this point is this other password thing that we created right here.

All that really does is gives the user the ability to change their password.

So you put in your old password put in your new passwords or if you wanted to change it from 1 to 3 to 1 3 5 that's where you would do it.
